Hello everyone!
Today we sent in a batch of 215 face shield frames to Maker Nexus, bringing our total up to 434! The last 10 days have demonstrated the power and dedication of our community, and we want to thank everyone involved for serving the Silicon Valley AM Task Force. Whether you donated filament, manufacturing time, or drove long distances to deliver parts/filament, this effort would not have been possible without you.
A huge thank you to Maker Nexus for obtaining filament donations and generously supplying us 3 rolls of 1.75mm PETG and 7 rolls of 1.75mm PLA! Both we and MN have had filament orders canceled/delayed, so more filament is on its way. If you requested filament, we’ll be working to get you some within the next couple of days. Thank you for your continued patience.
If you are a volunteer driver and are able to deliver filament donations from Audrey’s house to the requester in the next couple of days, please let me (Audrey) know when you’ll deliver so I can leave the filament out on my doorstep.
Just a reminder, please print the Maker Nexus modified RC3 frame as instructed in the last email. Note the different files for PETG and PLA/ABS. Once again, make sure that you produce a corresponding amount of bottom reinforcements.
Our next delivery day will be Friday, 4/3. We’ll send more details about delivery in the next couple of days. Maker Nexus has received orders for ~6,000 face shields from local hospitals, so keep them coming!
